On April 26, 1983; the national organization of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., chartered its 599th "House of Alpha," Xi Kappa Lambda chapter, seated in Missouri City, Texas. The charter members are:

The current chapter membership consists of over 100 Alpha brothers (including 43 life members) who are involved in professional endeavors of business, education, entrepreneurship, government, medicine, politics, and religion.
Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc who are not currently active with an alumni chapter, are invited to come and visit us. Chapter meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of every month at 7:00PM, The Alpha Center, 7031 W. Fuqua Drive, Missouri City, TX 77489.

Our chapter serves the Fort Bend County/Missouri City communities through numerous service projects.
Educational Initiatives: Xi Kappa Lambda is recognized as a leading chapter that supports scholastic achievements by awarding annual scholarships to area high school students. Our chapter also sponsors an annual tour of the nation s "Historically Black Colleges and Universities" (HBCUs) to enlighten, encourage, and expose youths to college life.
Other endeavors include mentoring programs and participation in the Boy Scouts of America and Big Brothers/Big Sisters programs in promotion of our "Go to High School, Go to College" national program. More importantly, Brothers of Xi Kappa Lambda promote the fraternity s national "Project Alpha" program which is focused on efforts to conduct formal dialogue with male youth regarding teen pregnancy/prevention and other social issues.
Civic Initiatives: Xi Kappa Lambda is involved in numerous projects including annual food bank drives, "Brothers Keepers" programs to support the needs of widows of deceased Alpha Brothers, the elderly, and homeless citizens.
Additionally, the chapter also hosts annual voter registration drives and political awareness seminars in conjunction with the fraternity s national program "A Voteless People is a Hopeless People" campaign.
